The project ECOSwarm titled “Intelligent Multi-Agent Control and Optimization applied to Green Buildings and Environmental Monitoring Drone Swarms” is supported by the Prisma Program of the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia. The project will last 3 years, from December 2023 to December 2026.
The ECOSwarm project deals with problems belonging to the emerging field of Intelligent Networked Cyber-Physical Systems (INCPS), which studies complex, spatially distributed and networked multi-agent dynamical systems. Such systems represent one of the greatest challenges in modern science and technology. The impact of INCPS will be revolutionary and pervasive, especially in view of emerging applications such as swarms of autonomous vehicles, smart buildings, cities and power grids, intelligent agricultural, transportation and manufacturing systems.
The objective of the project is development of advanced methods, algorithms and practical tools, with theoretically guaranteed superior properties and performance, for decentralized optimized collaborative deep reinforcement (DRL) and machine learning (ML) for INCPS, based on applications of dynamic consensus-based collaborative techniques, swarm intelligence meta-heuristics, and dynamic game theory. On a practical level, researchers will develop hardware and software solutions for two specific problems: drone swarm environmental monitoring and disaster relief, as well as the smart green buildings.
The results of the ECOSwarm project will enable the development and application of various innovative solutions in the business sector and the production process, and thus affect economic growth.
